Christmas In October Set For Saturday

By Jeff Gulley

Volunteers will be out Saturday fixing up selected houses for the 18th annual Christmas in October event.

Those working this year should meet at the Osawatomie High School cafeteria at 7:30 a.m.

Last year more than 75 people participated in the event that helps Osawatomie homeowners who need home repairs like painting, yard work and other projects done.

Organizer Diana Neal said there are five projects this year and a lot of painting will be done. There is still time to volunteer and if volunteers could bring more painting supplies like brushes and pans it would be appreciated.

The weather forecast early in the week showed a perfect day for the event but in case of rain,  the rain date for the event is the following Saturday.
