Boys’ Cross Country Team Takes First At Prairie View

Doug Kueser paced the Osawatomie varsity cross country runners Thursday and the boys’ team won the Prairie View Ramsey Invitational.

Kueser ran an 18:56 and finished fourth in the meet and was followed close behind by Grant Maimer who came in eighth place with a time of 19:20. Nick Lewis was 10th overall with a time of 19:27 and DJ Hollman was 15th at 19:54.

Rounding out the varsity team was Devon Dozier in 22nd place, Andy Cornelius in 29th and Jerrod Bechtel in 30th place.

Osawatomie’s 51 points won the meet. Blue Valley was second and Louisburg came in third.

In the varsity girls’ race, Megan Higdon was the top Trojan runner finishing in 26th place with a time of 20:20. Cheyenne Williams was 33rd followed in order by Audey Wilson and Daphne Lofing.

Chance Jolly finished 20th in the boys’ junior varsity race with a time of 22:53. Dalton Ramsey was 31st.

Kelly Stempel was 28th in the girls’ junior varsity race. Katie King was 30th followed in order by Lydia Cannon and Tabitha Diediker. Jillian Marcum was 34th.

In the freshmen boys’ race, Sheldon Booe was third with a time of 17:16 and Brandon Pace was fourth at 17:18.

The Trojans will run at Central Heights Thursday night.
