Volleyball Team Earns Senior Night Split

It was senior night for the Osawatomie volleyball team last week and the Trojans split a pair of matches with Jayhawk-Linn and Wellsville.

Playing at home on Oct. 5, the Trojans fell to the Jayhawks, then came back to beat Wellsville in two games.

Against the Jayhawks, the Trojans lost two hard-fought games 25-23, 25-21. Tayler Soucie had six kills, four assists and two ace serves. Suzy Waddle had five ace serves and Brianna Crain had three aces. Mackenzie Nickell had 19 assists in the match.

The Wellsville match went the Trojans way right from the start and they dominated 25-11, 25-17.

Soucie had seven kills and Crain had six. Crain also added six aces and Jessie Adams had five. Nickell had 14 assists.

Seniors playing their last home matches were Nickell, Crain, Adams, Jacy Lucas and Shelby Allen.

The Trojan play in a tournament Saturday at Central Heights and then finish the regular season with matches Tuesday at Central Heights. Regional matches will be Oct. 23 at Louisburg.

  1. I belive that you should focus more on the passers… because the team doesnt revolve around tayler soucie. hitters are important but the passers have to start the game and keep it going. THANKS (:
