Trojans Sweep Buffalos and Bulldogs

The Osawatomie volleyball team put together two wins over Prairie View and Anderson County at a triangular on Oct. 12.

Coming out strong in the first game, Prairie View was able to come out on top with a close win of 26-24. Emily Feldman had two aces, the last of which came on the 26th point to win. In game one Tayler Soucie for the Trojans and Feldman for the Buffalos both had five kills. Others in game one with a kill were Brianna Crain, Jordan Nicholas and Jessie Adams of Osawatomie and for Prairie View Lana Maltbie and Brittney Diehm.

Osawatomie would force the match to go to three games by winning game two 25-17. Soucie had four kills and two crucial blocks in the match. For the Buffalos, Hunter Ferris had two kills.

Even with six missed serves in game three, Osawatomie was able to win 25-14. Soucie had seven kills leading them to the win.

Next up for Osawatomie was Anderson County. Yet again the Trojans would have to play three games to win the match. In game one, Osawatomie was able to win 25-18 with Soucie having six kills and Crain having three. Suzy Waddle had three aces along with teammate Mackenzie Nickell who had two aces. Anderson County the won game two 25-18. Soucie led the team with three kills followed by Crain and Adams with two kills. In game three, five different Trojans had a kill helping them to win 25-14. The Trojans with two kills in game three were Soucie, Crain, Adams and Waddle. Nicholas had one kill.

The final match was between Prairie View and Anderson County. Anderson County won the match in two games 25-16, 25-11.

Other games played that night were JV and freshmen. Osawatomie JV beat both Prairie View and Anderson County while Anderson County beat Prairie View. The Trojans went 1-4 Saturday at their final tournament before regionals.

Competing at the Central Heights tournament, the Trojans beat Erie, and fell to Uniontown, KC Christian, Girard and Metro Academy.

In the 19-25, 25-7, 25-16 win against Erie, Osawatomie had 12 kills from Soucie, Nickell had 29 assists and Adams had five aces. The Trojans had 18 aces in the match. Crain had 19 passes and Jacy Lucas had 12 passes.

The Trojans fell to Uniontown 25-16, 25-20, KC Christian 25-23, 25-18 and Metro Academy 25-20, 25-18. They took Girard to three games winning the first 26-24 before falling 25-16 and 25-23.
