Local Youth On A Mission For Toys

Ashton Spears is asking for your help.

The 11-year-old, for the second year in a row, is making it his mission to provide toys to the Osawatomie Community Food Pantry to be given away to kids who need them.

“I just want to make sure that all kids get a toy for Christmas,” he said.

Ashton found out that the food pantry gave away toys at Christmas time and began helping spread the word last year.

“We were able to get about $1,000 worth of toys donated,” he said.

Spears is asking for donations of new or gently used toys for kids up to 18 years old.

A donation box is located at the Family Dollar Store or toys can be taken directly to the food pantry.

The food pantry will distribute the toys to people as they distribute food.
