Thomas Lynn Youman is an unsung Osawatomie hero who was a pioneer in Kansas’s telecommunications industry. By Jeff Gulley Osawatomie schools received passing marks in the annual assessment report that was released last week. District wide, all schools met annual yearly progress goals except Trojan Elementary, which failed to reach the mark in special education reading. The Osawatomie City Council announced Thursday night following an executive session the hiring of Don Cawby as city manager. Cawby’s hiring came after a month-long search that utilized the Kansas League of Municipalities to advertise and screen applicants.
